Recorded in an empty reverberant basement in Mansfield, CT in 2002. This was probably the first time I'd ever decided to do a version of Viennawaterfalls with a drummer before, and I couldn't imagine a better drummer for the job. Eric Rey's powerful conga counterpoint adds the perfect earthy compliment to the 3 string guitar's raging, watery torrent of pull-offs and open strings.

This track was mixed in post-production with headphones adding a stereophonic element to the sound engineering. Three mics were used: one near the guitar amp, one in the center of the room, and one near the percussionist. Each mic's track becomes braided through the stereo field: wearing headphones or sitting in the sweet spot between stereo speakers is a MUST for this recording!
